Strawberry Festival

Imagine biting down on a creamy and strawberry filled mini cake topped with whipped cream and more strawberries. Sounds like heaven right?

Indulge in an event that celebrates everything strawberry. From strawberry shortcakes, to strawberry cookies and cheesecake, the Strawberry Festival is an 11 day event that celebrates a life in American history.

History

Dating back to 1930, the Florida Strawberry Festival welcomes visitors from around the world. They bring communities together in celebration of their harvest and their exhibits of agriculture, fine arts, industry and more. Throughout the years, this event has ranked in the top 40 fairs in North America.

Attending the festival is a great opportunity to explore the culture of Plant City. With 10,000 acres of planted strawberries, you can see from a first-hand experience how growing strawberries has changed throughout the years.

What to Expect

At the Strawberry Festival, not only will you consume many different strawberry flavored desserts, there will also be entertainment such as youth livestock shows, rides, exhibits of commerce, live music and more!

If you like competition, check out some of the strawberry eating contests such as: “Deep Fried Strawberry Pie On a Stick Relay,” “Strawberry Spaghetti Eating Contest,” “Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest,” and more!

There will also be rides for the younger kids to enjoy. The New York Yankees Kiddie Korral will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

During your walk through the festival, you can expect to see the famous strawberry mascots, Mr. & Miss Berry! They love meeting visitors and taking pictures. Pictures with the Berry’s will take place everyday at 11 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

For all you strawberry lovers, check out the “Award-winning official Florida Strawberry Festival Cookbooks.” The cookbook costs $19.95.
